September 14 - 28, 2019



  • September 15-12:05 Arrival Marco Polo Airport, Venice.  Escorted to Water Taxi stand for private boat to take you directly to Hotel Al Duca di Venezia.  Rest before Group Dinner this Evening.  

  • September 16-Late morning Private Walking Tour of Venice.   Afternoon Free to Explore Venice on your own.  No group Dinner tonight.


  • September 17-Depart Venice Mid-morning for 4-1/2 drive to Bellagio in Lake Como.  Staying at Hotel Il Perlo Panorama.  Couple of hours freeto enjoy the property and views from hotel  before we ferry to lakeside town of Lenne for evening Group Dinner.


  • September 18-Free day to explore Bellagio and Lake Como.  Many things to do and see.  Possibly best option is to take a ferry from Bellagio to any of the many lakeside towns surrounding the lake, tour gardens and majestic mansions. You  Could fill the day walking the alleyways and lakeside streets of Bellagio.  Dinner this evening at Mella  Restaurant in San Giovanni.  A nice walk down the hill from our hotel, restaurant features fresh fish from Lake Como caught and prepared by chef owners and family.


  • September 19-Morning to relax before we depart for a 3 hour drive to Piemonte.  We are staying at Cascina Barac for the next 4 days.  Located very close to the famous and historical town of Alba.  We will visit Alba in the late afternoon and possibly arrange for a private walking tour. Group Dinner this evening at Osteria Il Cuoco in Alba.

  • September 20-This Day is a little open for group interpretation at this point.  Options include tour the many hillside castles in the Barolo area, visit to the town of Barolo, tasting at a Barolo Winery, visit to area small towns….. Dinner this evening at a countryside Michelin rated restaurant called Osteria Veglio  (wine NOT included).


  • September 21-Morning to Relax, afternoon  visit to Marchese di Gresy winery in Barbaresco for a tour and tasting.  Afternoon group lunch then a visi to the tiny hamlet of Barbaresco  for a stroll and a late afternoon apertivo .  Evening back at Cascina Barac to relax and enjoy the night.

  • September 22-Stay close to home at Cascina Barac, hang out, relax and I will prepare cookout dinner at the property. (hopefully with some help from some of you?!)


  • September 23-Morning to relax before our 3 hour drive to Monterosso al  Mare in Cinque Terre.    We check into Hotel la Spiaggia located directly on the seaside promenade.  We may take a short train ride to Corniglia for dinner at Ristorante da Cecio, where we can enjoy the view from upper terrace overlooking the sea and taste the world's greatest pesto!  


  • September 24-We will meet our private tour guide Marcial who will assist us in our train travel and hikes between the 5 villages that encompass the famous Cinque Terre area.  For those that are up to a hike, the last link between Corniglia and Monterosso is open for travel.  For those not interested in hiking, Marcial will get you situated for what to do and how to train back to Monterosso.  Group Dinner tonight at Ristorante al Tortuga, a 5 minute walk from our hotel.  Tortuga is another Michelin rated restaurant with spectacular views overlooking the sea.  


  • September 25- Depart Monterosso in the late morning for the 2 hour drive to Florence.  Check into Hotel Kraft. Possibility of arranging a sunset private walking tour of Florence.  Group dinner tonight at Quattro Leone located in the Oltrarno neighborhood of Florence.


  • Septenber 26-Free day to enjoy Florence on your own.  No Group Dinner.

  • September 27- No Plans for day,  Farewell Dinner tonight, Restaurant TBD.

  • September 28- Depart Florence at 8-9 am for 3-4 hour drive to Venice Marco Polo Airport for

         2:35 Departure.
